Link: Wade's Dade City Fair ride gross jumps 27%, sets record.
Everything fell into place for the 60th annual Pasco County Fair in Dade City, Fla. The Feb 3-19 event had a record ride gross of more than $200,000, up 27% from 2004, and attendance of 40,000, up from last year's mark of 32,000.
Wade Shows owner Frank Zaitshik, whose Spring Hill, Fla.-based carnival almost set a record at Dade City last year, said the gross has been growing year over year.
Wade started the season off with a bang, setting records for attendance and ride gross at the South Florida Fair, West Palm Beach, Jan. 13-29.Zaitshik was also upbeat about his ride results from the Feb. 9-20 Florida State Fair, Tampa, where he had 16 pieces booked on the independent midway, plus games and food.
Gate admission was $6 for adults and $3 for children, with those five and under admitted for free. Wade offered Pay-One-Price unlimited ride wristbands for $14 Monday through Thursday, or $11 if bought in advance. Sunday was Family Day, when children were admitted for free when accompanied by an adult, and rides were two for one.
