I awake to the rhythmic patter of raindrops on
the camper roof. I'll just
bet this isn't going to
be good for fair attendance.
Last night JS,
Dave Walker, and myself were
cutting up a few when Ward Hall's name
came
up...Dave said he first met Ward back in 1949
when he was a
nineteen-year-old kid, just starting
out, and working down in Florida. He
tells Ward
he doesn't have a spot booked for the following
week.
Ward told him, "If you do the Magic Act in my
show, you can do the
Svengali pitch and keep the
money."
Dave asked, "And how much will I get
paid for
the Magic Act."
Ward replied, "You get to do the card
pitch!"
Free admission Monday…crowds bigger than
Sunday. They say the
last weekend is the red
one. Of course, we would need a little sunshine
if
that's going to happen.
"Rain drops keep falling on my head..."
Positive note...no dust!
You gotta love it, Rick West
