The 61st annual Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival wrapped up its 10-day run on Sunday with a record breaking performance. The fair broke its all-time record for single-day attendance with 57,059 Sunday, beating out the previous record set on a Saturday in 2005. The total fair attendance record was also smashed, breaking through the 300,000 barrier for the first time in history. This year's 303,476 attendees - climbing above last year's 299,756 - put the event comfortably above the milestone number. "We're pretty stoked," said EDA Fair Manager Daryl Shippy. Phenomenal weather, great entertainment and a low-cost entry fee, that included free admission to Foreigner, REO Speedwagon and Cheap Trick concerts at Alladin's Concert Pavilion, helped drive the numbers up, Shippy said.
