The 33rd annual Collier County Fair will open Thursday for a 10-day run with more than the usual fair fare. You will have your midway with the carnival games, the food and the thrill rides along with the livestock shows, a truck pull, a demolition derby and bull riding. Then there are the special events with their own unique, local flavor such as the Collier County Dance Contest and the Miss Collier County Fair Sweetheart Contest. Variety is the name of the game again this year at the entertainment tent, which will host singers, dancers and a plethora of performers including the banjo champions of Kentucky and Indiana, plus — and you’ve got to see this — Stage hypnotist Terrance B and Hypno the Dog.
