The Jackson County Fairgrounds will light up with evening shows, rides and a variety of vendors Aug. 9 through 15 for this year's county fair. Officials confirmed dates for the fair Wednesday and released some details on shows at the grandstand. Scheduled shows: • The Jackson Symphony Orchestra, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9 • Super Kicker Rodeo, 7 p.m. Aug. 10. • Monster trucks, 7 p.m. Aug. 15. Fair officials are booking a rock act for Aug. 11, two country acts for Aug. 12 and a youth music act for Aug. 14, said Fair Manager Steve Thelen, who hopes to announce the names of the groups in the next week to 10 days. The fair will also have expanded displays in the birthing barn, he said. Ticket prices for admission and the music shows are still being determined, Thelen said.
