Fair preview: Vendors will create a small city by July 14 - Freeport, IL - The Journal-Standard.
Freeport, Ill. - For Dave Tuell of Freeport, the Stephenson County Fair is an exciting week. By Monday, July 13, he will be getting two eateries ready to offer fair food to families and those looking for a quick fix for their stomachs at the annual event. Tuell has two businesses he operates during the fair. He has The Chicken Shack and The All-American eatery. The first one offers chicken products and caters to families, which is a “quick food fix.” The All-American Eatery offers pork chops and a more carnival flair for food. Tuell’s business is a “part-time sometimes full-time venture” he is a part of through the summer. He is like a lot of vendors: They set up fast and when the week is over, they move onto the next fair. “I am looking forward to no rain and a fun fair week,” Tuell said. “This is something I go through every week in the summer — it’s fun.”
