U of I Extension invites you to celebrate the Rock Island County Fair at their Big Top Adventures July 21—25 featuring FREE family shows and activity stations University of Illinois Extension, Rock Island County invites the public to enter the magical world of the circus this summer as the entire 4-H Building at the Rock Island County Fairgrounds is transformed into a bustling, colorful circus! The community is encouraged to get their free tickets to experience a wondrous performance by CircEsteem, Children"s Activity Stations, Zany Janie Shows, Magic Shows, 4-H Project Booths, & more! CircEsteem is a Chicago based non-profit that focuses on building self-esteem in youth through the practice of the circus arts. Each day this amazing group will provide three 30 minute interactive shows featuring juggling, plate spinning, rolling globe tricks, clowning, acrobatics and gym wheels. Each show will be followed by a 30 minute workshop where audience members get to try the skills they witnessed in the show. Showtime"s for CircEsteem are 10:15 am; 2:15 pm & 6:15 pm, Tuesday – Saturday. You can also enjoy free 30 minute Magic Shows on Wednesday and Saturday at 4 pm and Thursday and Friday at 5 pm. In addition, Zany Janie will perform a unique interactive improv, storytelling adventure which uses balloon props, head dresses and magical elements along with Mr. B. Loon. Her 45 minute showtimes are Thursday and Friday at 4 pm and Wednesday and Saturday at 5 pm. Between shows enjoy free activity stations open 9 am—8 pm daily featuring Mini golf, Juggling, Art projects, Freaky Nature Tent, Strong Man Barbells, Balance Beam, Tossing Games, Spin Art & more! Local artists have created spectacular life-size circus animals and other decorations that transforms the space. All show seats are general admission.
