Final numbers in for the Volusia County Fair make it the third best fair in attendance, officials said. David Viers, executive director of the Volusia County Fair Association, said attendance was up 2 percent with about 174,000 people compared with 170,000 last year. Money at the gate was up 5.8 percent and money from the midway rides was up 13 percent. The 65th fair ended Sunday. "We did real good," Viers said Monday after compiling the final numbers. The budget for the past fair was more than $1 million.
