Renae Korslien, originally of Newburg, N.D., has been appointed to the position of general manager of the North Dakota State Fair. The board approved it this morning at the North Dakota State Fair Board meeting.
“We are extremely excited to promote Renae to this position. She has been with the State Fair for 36 years and has fully committed herself to the success of the Fair,” said Gary Knell, North Dakota State Fair Board president.
Korslien has not only devoted herself to the North Dakota State Fair but she has also been active in the fair industry. Korslien was president of the North Dakota Association of Fairs from 2003 to 2005 and holds certification as a Certified Fair Executive from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions. In 2004, she was awarded with an Honorary State FFA Degree and in 2006 she was inducted into the North Dakota Fairman’s Hall of Fame.
Most recently Korslien was elected to serve as the director of Zone 4 for the International Association of Fairs and Expositions.
“We are extremely proud of Renae’s many accomplishments within the fair industry and feel that her experience is a vital asset to the North Dakota State Fair,” said Knell.
