Don't tell Lisa Boll that trains are only for running around Christmas trees. For the past 14 years, the York Township resident has been designing and building train displays and landscaping for gardens and outdoor spaces. Boll is a founder of the Susquehanna Valley Garden Railway Society, which has set up large train displays at garden shows and Rocky Ridge Christmas Magic. This is the first year they will have a display at the York Fair. Club member Donna Oberdick of Manchester Township said it's the largest and most beautiful setup she has ever seen. "Every one we make is very nice," Oberdick said, "but this one has to top it." In past train displays, they have done Wizard of Oz and a Western theme, but this one has a moving carnival with a Ferris wheel to capture the attention of the kids. It never fails, parents line up their baby strollers and people are 10 deep waiting to look at the trains.
