The original double-disc cast recording of In the Heights debuted at number one on Billboard's Cast Album chart. The recording also made it into Billboard's Top 200 Album Chart at number 82. Ghostlight Records released the recording on June 3 as a 23-track, two-disc package complete with a 68-page booklet containing cast photos and song lyrics. The recording was produced by Andres Levin and Ghostlight president Kurt Deutsch and spotlights the Tony-nominated score by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also stars in the Broadway production.

Passing Strange is going to get stranger. The musical will be recorded before a live audience on April 14 from the stage of the Belasco Theatre, but there will be no lights, no set, no costumes and no scenes from the show. There will only be music.

PS Classics, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American popular song, will record the original Off Broadway cast recording of Adding Machine on Monday, April 14, it was announced today by the show’s producers, Scott Morfee, Tom Wirtshafter and Margaret Cotter, and Tommy Krasker, co-founder of PS Classics. The album will be produced by Mr. Krasker, whose recent projects include the cast recordings of the current Broadway productions of Sunday in the Park with George and A Catered Affair. Krasker anticipates a June 3 release date. Adding Machine is currently playing at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane). The musical began previews on February 8, 2008, and officially opened on February 25, receiving some of the most rhapsodic reviews of the season and, most recently, was cited by the Lucille Lortel Awards with six nominations, including Best Musical, Best Actor, Best Featured Actress and Best Director. Adding Machine features a score by Joshua Schmidt and a libretto by Jason Loewith and Mr. Schmidt.
